Technical Support Specialist II [Posted 08/27/2018] - Cambridge, MA 02139
Technical Automation Corporation, an IT management and technical services firm is seeking a talented, motivated individual to join our technical support team as a Technical Support Specialist II, providing Level I-II help desk and systems support to its clients and data center support to the Principal Engineer.
Working from a major client's Cambridge MA office, this critical client-facing role responds to client phone and email inquiries to the technical desk and directly interacts with customers to identify computer, software and network related issues. In addition, the person in this role will handle a wide range of system and network related duties including software installation / configuration research, installation planning, system imaging and network and systems management. Documenting ongoing activity in real time using an industry-standard issue tracking system is a critical position responsibility as is ongoing, in-house, training toward expanding long term technical responsibilities: this is a growth position with the objective of expanding technical, oversight and decision making responsibilities, as mastery of each discipline is achieved and demonstrated.
The work hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, excluding holidays and the office is located walking distance from the MBTA’s Harvard and Central Square's Red Line station in downtown Cambridge, MA. Reserved, off-street private parking is provided for those who elect to drive to work.
The successful candidate will be an independent, self-starter with college credentials, have an unquenchable thirst for technical knowledge in the computing/networking disciplines, a willingness to learn every single day and demonstrate ownership of that knowledge by applying it in a precise and professional manner in accordance with the company's processes and polices. Flawless interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal, are an absolute requirement, as is the ability to follow well-established company processes and procedures, developed over two decades in the client services business.
